Psalm 144:1

Blessed be the Lord, my rock.

I like this verse because it says so much in so few words.  In particular, those two words, "my rock".

When things are going well, the Lord is my rock.  When everything is going my way, the Lord is my rock.  When the world seems good and all is right, the Lord is my rock.  When peace seems to reign, the Lord is my rock.  When I am the center of attention for something good that I've done, the Lord is my rock.  When all look to me for guidance, the Lord is my rock.

When things are going bad, the Lord is my rock.  When I'm anxious about something, the Lord is my rock.  When I'm angry, the Lord is my rock.  When things are uncertain and the path isn't clear, the Lord is my rock.  When I'm tired and weak, the Lord is my rock.  When everyone wants to blame me, the Lord is my rock.

The Lord keeps me grounded and steady.  His hand guides me and keeps me on the path.

Blessed be the Lord, my rock.

Blessed be your name
When the sun's shining down on me
When the world's all as it should be
Blessed be your name

Blessed be your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering
Blessed be your name

Every blessing you pour out,
I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say...
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your glorious name

You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Oh Lord,Blessed be your name

I will bless your name Lord!
